Dr. Roque is an Interventional Pain Medicine Specialist who is Double Trained in Anesthesiology andPain Medicine. He is fellowship trained in interventional pain management. He completed his residencyand fellowship at one of the top 20 US News and World Report Hospitals, the very prestigious andworld-renown Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. At the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Centerwhere patients come from all over the world seeking expert medical advice, Dr. Roque learned the skillsnecessary to treat the most challenging pain conditions including but not limited to, neck pain, backpain, sciatica, herniated disc (neck or back), failed back surgery, headaches, facial pain, diabeticneuropathy, joint pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, sports related injuries, arthritis, osteoporosis,and any types of joint pain and cancer related pain.As an interventional pain management, Dr. Roque specializes in Minimally Invasive Endoscopyprocedures, including but not limited to, percutaneous disc decompression, discography, epiduralsteroid injections, vertebroplasty, microendoscopic discectomy, intrathecal pumps, spinal cordstimulator, a variety of nerve blocks and minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD) for thetreatment of spinal stenosis.As a retired Army Colonel, with 36 years of meritorious service in the United States Army and Army Reserves, his dedication to duty, country and service for this great nation is reflected. His last prestigious assignment was as the Commander of the 4215 Combat Support Hospital headquartered at Richmond, Virginia. At Brooks Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, he has also treated our wounded warriors returning from war.Dr. Roque is an active member in several academic and professional societies including the AmericanSociety of Anesthesiologists, The American Academy of Pain. Dr. Roque is affiliated with some of thefinest hospitals in North Jersey including Saint Mary's Hospital, where he serves as the Director of PainMedicine Services.Dr. Roque is a mentor to many of the students pursuing careers in medicine and is also a motivationalspeaker for the group. In addition, he has been a preceptor to college students, medical student,residents, and Pain Medicine Fellows. He has lectured at regional, national, and international venues onpain management including instructional course lectures at the international level. He has provided anumber of presentation and Grand Rounds to physicians, and has been an instructor of numerouscourses for Interventional Pain procedures and techniques.As a physician he continues to immerse himself in pain management outside of the workplace,constantly advancing his knowledge in the newest technologies and therapies in Interventional PainManagement. He is an excellent clinician whose skill and expertise in diagnosing and treating arematched only by his compassion and dedication to his patients.
